Nissan Skyline GT-R

The Nissan Skyline GT-R is a sports car that belongs to the Nissan Skyline range. The initial vehicles bearing the designation "Skyline GT-R" were manufactured between 1969 and 1972, identified by the model code KPGC10. They achieved remarkable success in Japanese touring car racing competitions. A subsequent limited production of second-generation cars followed, identified by the model code KPGC110, in 1973. The GT-R name was then reintroduced in 1989 with the BNR32 ("R32") Nissan Skyline GT-R after a hiatus of 16 years.

The Nissan Skyline GT-R became the exemplar of Nissan's performance prowess, incorporating a range of cutting-edge technologies such as the ATTESA E-TS All-wheel drive system and the Super-HICAS four-wheel steering. Presently, the vehicle is celebrated for its participation in import drag racing, circuit track events, time attack challenges, and competitions organized by tuning magazines. Production of the Nissan Skyline GT-R came to a close in August 2002, paving the way for the R35 GT-R, a brand-new model developed on the V36 Skyline platform. Despite their visible disparities, these two cars share comparable design elements and are manufactured in the same facility.

The Nissan Skyline GT-R was exclusively produced in Japan, with its only export markets being Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand in 1991; and later in the UK (in 1997), facilitated by the Single Vehicle Approval scheme as used Japanese imports.

The original Nissan Skyline GT-R, internally designated as PGC10 by Nissan, made its debut on February 4, 1969. Initially sold solely through the Japanese Nissan Prince Store dealership network following the integration of Prince company operations into Nissan in 1966.

Renowned for its exceptional track performance and origin, the Nissan Skyline GT-R earned the moniker "Godzilla." The R32 GT-R reigned supreme in JTCC, winning all 29 races it competed in within the series and securing the championship title consecutively from 1989 to 1993.
